WHEN CHOOSING A RADIATOR SHOULD YOU BE LOOKING AT MORE THAN JUST PRICE?
According to the EN442, heat output performance is the main requirement for radiators but there are several other important aspects covered by the Standard.
From 1 December 2005 CE marking for radiators to the requirements of the Construction Products Directive (89/106/CE) came into force. That now means that products tested and certified to EN442 standard by a Notified Body can have a CE Mark applied.
The CE Mark is not a quality mark, but a symbol that indicates fitness for purpose and conformity to the legal requirements of the European Union, with respect to safety, health, environment, and consumer protection Whilst not yet a legal requirement for radiators sold in the UK, the presence of CE marking offers reassurance that a manufacturer is complying with the regulations, and provide a common ground for them to compete in the overseas markets.
The CE mark for radiators is a declaration of compliance by the manufacturer, based on confirmation of the technical data and test results obtained from a Notified Body

| | | Traditional cast iron air bricks, for installation in period and listed properties. Air Bricks
Airbricks have been used in traditional construction for centuries and have changed very little in style or shape. During the Victorian times cast iron was used to produce more elaborate and decorative airbricks and they became an architectural feature as well as improving ventilation under suspended timber floors. Today cast iron is still a popular choice of material to replace or install airbricks in period and listed properties. It is important to regularly check your airbricks to ensure they are unblocked and free of any nearby plants or bushes that may make them ineffective. Airbricks are needed either side of the house to allow the free passing of air to prompt circulation. more.. |
